Have you ever gotten deep into someone’s heart and understood them less?

Hi, I’m Britt (short for Brittany) Dorazio — a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and somatic practitioner based in Pittsburgh. I believe creativity, presence, and embodiment are powerful tools for healing and reconnection — to ourselves, each other, and the Earth.

Rooted in music, theater, and storytelling since childhood, my work is shaped by both personal healing and over a decade of experience across arts education, mindfulness facilitation, and community-based programming. I’ve led trauma-informed, arts-based initiatives in classrooms, nonprofits, and international spaces — from NYC to Tanzania — and currently collaborate with local orgs like Awaken Pittsburgh and City Theatre to bring creative wellness and mindfulness programming to youth, educators, and communities.

Through Sovereign Creative Wellness, I offer 1:1 and group programs that integrate somatic movement, trauma-informed meditation, and social-emotional arts. I hold over 500 hours of training in somatics, polyvagal theory, anti-violence education, and expressive arts.

As an artist, I’m a published poet (There Are Stories in These Hands) and recording artist (Home Finds You, coming soon). Whether I’m holding space or creating, my work is about helping people access their own aliveness and agency.

When I’m not working, I’m likely in nature, journaling, sharing tea, or spending time with my two cats, Nandor and Lotus. As an educator, through Sovereign Creative Wellness, I create 1:1 and group curricula and programming through trauma-informed meditation, social emotional arts, and somatic movement. Check out my offerings here. For more information on my training and values, please click here.

Alongside Awaken Pittsburgh, a mindfulness and meditation non-profit, I develop and deliver mindfulness programs in Pittsburgh.

You can catch me coordinating arts education programming in collaboration with City Theatre and other Pittsburgh arts based organizations.

As an artist, I’ve been performing professionally in Pittsburgh and New York City for the past 15 years. Check out some of my past projects here. For media click here.

As a practitioner, I am dedicated to witnessing the many layers of myself through Non-Dualism, journaling, Vedic philosophy and meditation, asana, and somatic practice.

Outside of my work, I am most likely connecting with nature, hanging out with my two kitty babes, Nandor and Lotus, and drinking tea or sharing meals with friends and family.
