Have you ever gotten deep into someone’s heart and understood them less?

Hi, I’m Britt (short for Brittany) Dorazio—a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and practitioner. I believe in the power of creativity, presence, and embodiment to reconnect us to ourselves, each other, and the Earth.

My path has been anything but linear. Rooted in music, theater, and storytelling since childhood, I’ve long been drawn to the richness of the human experience—its beauty, its complexity, its capacity to heal. Through years of navigating my own trauma and transformation, I’ve come to see creativity not just as expression, but as medicine. At heart, I’m someone who believes in the ripple effect of honest, embodied work. I believe healing can be creative. And I believe it starts small—with the spaces we tend, the way we listen, and how fully we show up.

I’ve worked as a teaching artist, mindfulness facilitator, nonprofit leader, and curriculum designer across schools, community centers, spiritual spaces, and international projects—from NYC to Tanzania. My teaching philosophy is trauma-informed, playful, and grounded in deep listening. I hold over 500 hours of training in somatics, polyvagal theory, anti-violence education, and expressive arts.

I'm a published poet (There Are Stories in These Hands) and recording artist (Home Finds You, coming soon). Whether I am creating or holding space, my intention is to help people connect with their own agency and aliveness.

As an educator, through Sovereign Creative Wellness, I create 1:1 and group curricula and programming through trauma-informed meditation, social emotional arts, and somatic movement. Check out my offerings here. For more information on my training and values, please click here.

Alongside Awaken Pittsburgh, a mindfulness and meditation non-profit, I develop and deliver mindfulness programs in Pittsburgh.

You can catch me coordinating arts education programming in collaboration with City Theatre and other Pittsburgh arts based organizations.

As an artist, I’ve been performing professionally in Pittsburgh and New York City for the past 15 years. Check out some of my past projects here. For media click here.

As a practitioner, I am dedicated to witnessing the many layers of myself through Non-Dualism, journaling, Vedic philosophy and meditation, asana, and somatic practice.

Outside of my work, I am most likely connecting with nature, hanging out with my two kitty babes, Nandor and Lotus, and drinking tea or sharing meals with friends and family.
